I'm sure everyone is aware of the phone issues we are experiencing in Walker County and some surrounding areas. This is due to construction that has damaged communication lines. This could last for several more days and there is the possibility of more problems. If you are an AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile or TDS customer or using a prepaid service that works off of one of these carriers and you are having issues dialing 9-1-1, you can try using wi-fi calling. It would be best to use Charter, CSpire or Starlink. Rest assured that while our business lines are experiencing outages also, our 9-1-1 lines are working and not affected by this issue. Walker County E9-1-1 is here to answer your call.
It is the goal of Walker County 9-1-1 to provide the citizens of Walker County, Alabama with a quick and efficient method of accessing emergency services using 9-1-1. To obtain this we will use trained professionals and state of art communications equipment.
